MARCH: Using Digital Games to Teach Coding Description: STEM is one of the fastest growing fields in today’s society and throughout the last decade we have seen a huge increase in career paths that did not previously exist. Think about career paths in social media marketing and artificial intelligence. So what does this mean for those teaching the future generation right now? It means we may be preparing them for job fields that currently do not exist, which is why teaching coding and computational thinking is more important than ever! Whether they will one day be the programmer or collaborating with them, all students should leave school knowing the basics of coding. This can be daunting but luckily, in the age of digital gaming, there are many fun and engaging games to help teach students from Pre K through 12th grade. |
